With some of the most beautiful beaches in the world and more than a little bit of positive press coming out about the glories of Boracay, it’s no wonder that so many tourists and locals are heading to Boracay to enjoy the lush jungles, white sand beaches, and incredible nightlife that the island has become known for. It seems that everyday there are new hotels and guesthouses popping up but here are a few of my favorite tried and true places to stay on Boracay
Top Boracay Hotels
At the top of the list is Dave’s Straw Hat Inn. Don’t let the quaint name fool you, the pillows, beds, rooms and amenities at Dave’s are the top of the line but this isn’t some big resort. Instead it’s a laid back, fun place that serves incredible pancakes for breakfast with delicious mango ice tea. Close to the beach and low enough in price that you will be able to enjoy yourself without stressing about the bills at home. Dave’s is a winner.
The Lazy Dog Bed and Breakfast
The Lazy Dog Bed and Breakfast is slightly more pricey than Daves and you won’t be finding any nipa huts here, but you get the benefit of hanging out with Whiskey the Dog and the personal touches that the owner has put on the place. Great service, friendly staff, laid back atmosphere, and strong wifi signal just in case you need to get some work done while you are there. We aren’t all lazy dog’s after all!
Shangri-La’s Boracay Resort
Island Jewel Inn offers clean and well kept rooms that each come with their own little refrigerator and have a simple charm as well as comfort. This is a quiet place and best suited for those who aren’t interested in the busy nightlife or the crowded beaches. One thing for certain, you won’t be woke up by the noise when you stay here.
Boracay Beach Club is the complete other side of the spectrum. Right on the beach with an incredible restaurant and lounge and a staff that is used to those who want to par-tay-tay. Great breakfast that gets served late and plenty of activities organized for guests to keep you active and enjoying your time.
During the day you can hang out under the beach umbrellas, sip on a cocktail, and prepare yourself for the fun to come later at night. Of course you can also kayak, snorkel, island hop, or just meditate to the crashing of the waves.
Shangri-La’s Boracay Resort and Spa is the top end of the spectrum. This is ultra-luxurious Boracay. From speedboat taxis to in house private butlers to high end art on the walls of the lobby and in the rooms. This is the serious top of the line stuff. Spas, pools, private beaches, PS3 games, personal attendants and more. The downside – you pay for it. This place isn’t cheap.
