Depending on your budget, El Nido town has a range of budget accommodation from small run-down cottages to nicely built and tastefully furnished guesthouses and lodges. Hot showers and air-conditioned rooms are uncommon in budget rooms so you’ll have to pay a bit extra for these. The beachfront cottages with private porches are frequently booked out so it doesn’t hurt to reserve in advance for that priceless view, especially during high season.
El Nido Town Map (click on the image to enlarge)
We stayed at El Nido Town for a week in a 500 per night cottage with very basic amenities. Babes’ Cottage was newly built, well maintained and conveniently located along Calle Hama on the opposite side of the road from the beach. There was neither TV nor hot shower, but with the hot and humid climate here, a cold shower was more refreshing anyway.
And honestly do you really need a TV in El Nido? Even Lagen Resort, the most expensive resort in El Nido doesn’t have a TV in its rooms. They encourage their guests to get out of their room and explore. For us, as long as it is clean, safe and reasonably priced, we’re happy to let go of a few creature comforts and spend the money saved on food, drinks and adventure instead.
